From Europe's spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana are shot among others the Meteosat satellites into space with the Ariane 5 launcher.
In 2014 we were able to realize a complete, electrically heated thermal oil plant for RUAG Space. There are presses heated and cooled by means of secondary circuits. On the presses ultralight sandwich panels are produced. From these panels is ultimately the structure of a satellite, for example of the Meteosat, manufactured. This structure forms the "backbone" of the satellite, it is home to all assemblies and measuring instruments, which provide the weather information. From its geostationary position at 36,000 km altitude the Meteosats watching the weather over Europe. These weather satellites are operated by the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites, EUMETSAT.
